Last week, we were delighted to present the Children’s Ward from East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust with a cheque for £800. Pictured above is Adrian White, Emma Pearman, and Yameen Choudhry from Carlisle Support Services with Kelly Elliot, Play Specialist for the Trust.

Each year, we hold our Superstar Ceremony, an awards evening which recognises the fantastic work completed by our frontline workers, support teams, and contact management. One of our worthy winners from 2019, was our iQ Student Accommodation Security team, who won £250 between them within the Team of the Year category.

They have recently requested that we donate this money to the NHS, specifically to the Children’s Ward at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, a client we are very proud to work in partnership with. Our Regional Contract Manager, Yameen Choudhry also felt it appropriate to show his own personal support to the cause by making an additional donation. To recognise the fantastic gesture made by Yameen and his team, Carlisle Support Services have matched the initial donation, resulting in £800 making its way to the Trust.

I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to Yameen, Adrian, and the IQ Student Accommodation team for helping our children and young patients. The donation will help us fund new toys, activity books, puzzles, TV’s, and an iPad for children to use when they are having their treatment. We know hospitals can be a daunting place for any child but we thoroughly believe in the Magic of Play and using toys / sensory equipment to distract children from their pain or illness. This couldn’t be achieved without generous and kind donations like Carlisle’s, so thank you for helping us spread a smile.
