Carlisle Security Services has delivered comprehensive security services across the 68 stations and 75 miles of the Merseyrail network since 2001. Deployed through both static and mobile security teams to facilitate the successful provision of the service, we provide Customer Service Rail Support Staff, Byelaw Enforcement, and NRSP Officers. Additionally, Ticket Vending Machine Fingertip Maintenance, CCTV Monitoring, Incident Management, and Patrol and Response Officers fall within our remit.

We will continue to work with Merseyrail over the next two years to evolve the service offering to deliver efficiencies and to enhance passenger perceptions of safety and security on the network.

Merseyrail has worked with Carlisle Support Services for 20 years now keeping our network safe for our passengers and we are pleased to announce that this partnership will continue until 2023.

Carlisle is a vital partner to Merseyrail, and the extension of our contract is a testament to the high quality of service that Carlisle provides and the value that we place on their role within our organisation. I look forward to continuing this relationship as we remain committed to the safety and security of our passengers.

Emma Cowan, Finance and Transformation Director, Merseyrail

The extension of this contract is a welcome confirmation of the future business profile of Carlisle Support Services, and it shows that under the current difficult operating conditions, businesses can continue to work in partnership and plan for the future. This extension reflects the hard work and quality service that has been provided by our team over many years and positions us well to work with Merseyrail with their commitment to providing the best possible service to their customers.

Paul Evans, CEO, Carlisle Support Services

Our service solution to Merseyrail has always concentrated on three key factors, a robust, evidentially sound enforcement team, flexible customer personnel, and complementary policing solutions. Since our partnership began over 20 years ago, we have developed principles and objectives of our service provision to Merseyrail which reduce the incidents of anti-social behaviour across the network, assist with crowd control when necessary, providing high visibility patrols, and enforcing byelaws.

Jeff Higham, Contract Manager, Carlisle Support Services
