As we continue to support our local communities, we are pleased to see our ARL trackside team undertake a weeklong volunteer project to transform the KIDS charity’s playground in London. Here at Carlisle Support Services, we live by our core values, and if we make a promise, we will deliver on it.
Recently to tremendous success, our trackside team took the time to complete a volunteer project for the KIDS charity, which supports children with additional needs. This project took place on the grounds of our security client, the Royal Hospital Chelsea, at the Chelsea Adventure Playground which is a public and welcoming space for families to mingle and find support within the community.
During the five-day effort, headed by Mark Oram, Specialist Works Contract Manager, the trackside team put their skills to the test and pledged to complete the following works for the site:
- Dismantle an old, unsafe pirate ship and remove it from the site.
- Clean and remove all high-level vegetation.
- Unblock and replace damaged gutters.
- Replace broken windowpanes, door handles, and locks.
- Correct improperly installed emergency exit push handles.
- Install new security lock boxes for key safekeeping.
- Repaint the entire interior and add chosen wall art throughout the building.
- Deep clean the soft play area.
- Fill a 12-yard skip with rubbish and unused equipment.
- Clean the outside play area of any fallen leaves and vegetation.
The team got straight to it on a Monday morning and was extremely proud to be able to hand the playground and building back to the KIDS Charity in fully functioning condition with all of the work completed to a high standard by the end of the week.
As an important staple to the community, the work of the team will ensure that these free and welcoming spaces remain to a high standard, allowing the KIDS charity team to continue their great outreach work and promotion of accessible locations for children.
Thank you to our trackside team for completing this for the Charity, we are excited to see what you do next!
