British Film Institute (BFI)

The BFI is the lead organisation for film in the UK with the ambition to create a flourishing film environment in which innovation, opportunity and creativity can thrive. After a very competitive process, Carlisle was awarded a three-year contract in providing security, mobile response and keyholding services across five locations to this iconic business.

The contract now sees Carlisle deliver an integrated security service deployed across BFI’s various sites which include:

Southbank

The number one venue for film and television in the UK, with over 50 years of unrivalled experience presenting and celebrating moving image in all its forms. Located in the heart of London’s Southbank, BFI Southbank offers state-of-the-art cinema projection, unrivalled technical presentation and a
range of catering spaces.

IMAX

In association with ODEON, it is the biggest screen in Britain – situated at London Waterloo.

Stephen Street

Smart, flexible screening and meeting spaces for hire in the heart of London’s West End with tailored hospitality options from Stephen St Kitchen, BFI Stephen Street offers a wealth of possibilities.

National Archive, Berkhamsted

Collecting, preserving, restoring and interpreting British titles to ensure British film heritage is widely accessible in cinemas and in homes. It also boasts a collection of posters, images, publicity material, original scripts, letters and other artefacts.

Gaydon

Originally a disused military installation, this converted building uses green technologies to keep a stable temperature to inhibit decay and preserve the film store, containing reels and negatives dating back to the early years of film.

Our team of 23 dedicated staff provide patrolling, CCTV surveillance, reception and visitor assistance and staff support across the four main locations and support of mobile patrols and keyholding services to their business location in Gaydon.

Our offering was designed to include technology that would enhance the engagement and management of our people. Another benefit was our ability to provide additional resource from our area and events staff. This was a major contributor to their decision to award the services to Carlisle, as they have ongoing events throughout each year. This would include new product launches through to film premiers. Our officers also received Highfield Customer Service training in order to exceed client expectations and provide an outstanding service to BFI, it’s staff, and visitors. The photos to the right show our Security Manager and one of our Security officers receiving their certificates.

“Carlisle Support Services have managed a seamless transition for us and even at this early stage we can see the professionalism and dedication of the management team. They are partnering with the BFI on the development of unique training packages to both develop the team and our service offering. We’re delighted and look forward to building the partnership further.”
