Carlisle Support Services are seeking an approachable and enthusiastic Event Security and Stewarding Manager to support their Event Operations team in Cheltenham and across the South of England.

Primarily working at Cheltenham Racecourse, the Event and Stewarding Manager will report into the Sector Director to ensure the successful delivery of the Security and Stewarding operation at this prestigious venue. The successful candidate will be tasked with supporting the preparation of race day and event personnel as well as taking on the management of the teams on a race day and key conferencing and events throughout the year.

This is a full time role of which applicants must be available for the race dates at Cheltenham Racecourse, including New Year's Day. Due to the nature of the operation holidays will not be limited in February and restricted in March until the festival has concluded.

As the Operations Manager you will be responsible for the delivery of staffing up to 400 personnel per day during The Festival and working with the management structure to ensure that these personnel are equipped with the tools and knowledge to be able to conduct their duties.

Outside of the operational management functions you will also be responsible for the budget management of this account as well as the training and development of key personnel. You should also be continually evaluating the service delivery and seeking ways to improve the service.

The successful candidate will be supported by an experienced management team and administration support functions to ensure the successful delivery of the operations on site.

JOB OVERVIEW:

As a senior member of the team you will play a key part in enhancing the colleague experience, driving the customer experience by empowering the team to embrace the vision set by the management teams of The Jockey Club and Carlisle Support Services.

You will be responsible for liaising with the client, the on-site security operation as well as ensuring that the security and stewarding operations are attentive and proactive at all times. All of our colleagues work hard to provide a visible reminder that safety and security is our number one priority for visitors and staff, all whilst delivering the highest standards of customer service.

Hours: Full Time, weekend working will be given back in lieu

Rate of Pay: £30,000-£37,500 depending on experience

Attributes

  • You should be personable and proactive with a personal drive to deliver on the best
  • You must be available to work Days and Weekends
  • You should possess a valid SIA Door Supervisors or CP licence, but not essential for the right persons as training can be provided
  • Excellent communication skills and an aptitude for working with the public and leading a team
  • A friendly, approachable and professional manner
  • Previous experience in Event Security, Security or an Event Management role would be advantageous
  • Full UK Driving licence
