Location: Field Based - Edinburgh

Reports to: Director of Operations Security & Events North

Salary: £35k per annum plus operational bonus of upto 10% of salary

Benefits: Company car Band 2 and 3% contributory pension

Purpose of the Role: To fulfil a duel role in an exciting new role to develop operations in the Scotland

  • to act as Contract Management focus for our Scotland based operations, by ensuring full compliance to customer's rosters, service level agreements (SLA's), health and safety requirements and legislation associated with the delivery of this service
  • Development of portfolio in Scotland by execution of regional business development strategy

Direct Reports: Security supervisor and officers at Leonardo Edinburgh site

Estate Responsibility: Any part of the Northern portfolio as advised by the Director of Operations

Key Responsibilities:

Cultural

  • Assist in the maintenance of a unified service delivery methodology for security based around the principles of the Carlisle values

Operational

  • Assist in the delivery of agreed contract standards and client SLA's for Scotland portfolio clients
  • Prepare and confirm assignment rosters to ensure the fulfilment of security hours across the portfolio
  • Ensure sufficient levels of qualified and competent officers are maintained to meet the current and projected future levels of personnel required by assisting Contract Manager to recruit and deploy
  • Identify and introduce appropriate and agreed innovation or improvements in line with client's expectations and vision
  • Identify and introduce ways to improve service delivery that improve cost base and enhance customer/stakeholder satisfaction
  • Ensure all staff work in a professional and safe manner always

Business Development

  • Deliver revenue growth of region by £2m per annum as dictated by Northern Business Development Strategy
  • Identify and win complementary business opportunities within the region
  • Attend site visits and complete tender questions relevant to each opportunity
  • Generate meetings with new clients
  • Update Salesforce on a weekly basis for all opportunities attended and developments/progress on existing opportunities

Compliance

  • Ensure all officers are deployed in line with the rigours of the Private Security Industry Act 2001 in terms of aligned licensing and training for officers and issues of screening for matters of safeguarding
  • Assist in ensuring all officers have safe systems of work for all tasks undertaken which are communicated and understood by all team members and documented as being so.
  • Assist with the completion of regular audits across the network to ensure contract and legal compliance, and ensure any non-compliance is rectified and reported
  • Promote a secure and safe working environment at each site by assisting in carrying out regular risk assessments and security reviews with the Client

People

  • Create and disseminate clear and communicated weekly rosters each week to the team, 1 month in advance where possible
  • Manage holiday requests and sickness absence cover for Site Supervision keeping trends on officer time and attendance performance
  • Assist Site Supervision with the recruitment and retention all contract personnel
  • Create and disseminate Contract Newsletter
  • Responsibility for processing of wage queries of all staff including ensuring full compliance on holiday, bank holiday and sick pay

Financial

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly invoices and back up data for your portfolio
  • Assist and prepare and all POs in line with company procedures

Stakeholder Relationships

  • Support development of pragmatic working relationship with any associated unions
  • Establish and encourage proactively working relationships with local emergency services and police
  • Establish and encourage proactive working relationships with Leonardo Senior Management

Performance Management & Record Keeping

  • Prepare and deliver weekly roster reports and monthly KPI packs for designated sites
  • Financial performance - assist with the compilation of the monthly P&L
  • Validate contract training matrix and update license for your portfolio
  • Conduct Visit IT audits at all assignment locations - at least 1 per week per assignment location
  • Conduct regular Health and Safety training audits and toolbox talks Safe IT

Person specification:

  • SIA Licensed
  • Excellent understanding of the UK Security industry
  • Excellent working knowledge of Timegate, Work IT and Engage it and Office 365
  • Knowledge and experience of dealing with physical and electronic security methods and measures
  • ACT Awareness
  • IOSH Certificate or equivalent
  • Proven business development skills
  • Excellent communication skills - articulate and focused, proficient written skills, good listener
  • A good people manager, able to motivate and optimise outputs from team members.

  • Good organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and deliver to deadlines
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Must hold a full UK driving license
  • Flexibility around working hours and patterns

Area Development Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Carlisle Support Services as an Area Development Manager in Scotland. The successful candidate will possess excellent operational and relationship management skills. The role offers self-starters the ability to grow their own portfolio and play to their strengths from a solid base.
