Carlisle Support Services is currently recruiting for a unique rail contract in Folkestone, Dover. The position requires excellent communication skills (spoken and written) and customer service as well as the highest standards of personal presentation.
Main Duties:
To ensure that vehicles are chocked/un chocked and to perform safety checks on vehicles once they are boarded to trains, assist customers onto the bus.
Working as part of a team, chocks need to be removed and replaced under the wheels of large HGV wagons to ensure the safety of the vehicles before their journey through the tunnel. Must be confident and assertive, able to follow detailed instruction and capable of swift, reasoned decision making under pressure.
Summary Details:
Job Title: Customer Safety Agent (Freight)
Pay Rate: £9.10 per hour
Variable Shift's: Early | Lates | Nights - 24 hour running operation
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Must ensure that all chocks are correctly placed
Complete safety checks on each vehicle
Conduct Head Counts
Check all fuel caps are in place and there are no leaks
Look out for any signs of potential fire
Use clear hand signals to direct vehicles
Control the flow of traffic onto the shuttles
Check Curtain sides vehicles are secured before transit
Ensure that if there is an isolated wagon that the procedure in place are followed
To report faults and if possible, perform corrective actions, and otherwise respond and deal with any anomaly noticed or reported.
Communicate effectively with all the departments to avoid any problems which could delay the whole operation
To complete incident/accident reports.
Applicants must have:
FULL CLEAN DRIVING LICENCE
Good timekeeping & attendance

Excellent level of both verbal and written English
Be able to provide proof of eligibility to work and hold an appropriate security clearance

Flexible to work to a shift rotation in line with a 24-hour operation.
Additional Information:
In accordance with the Working Time Regulations Act 1998 these roles are open to individuals aged 18 years and over at the time of taking up appointment due to shift working being required.
All applicants are required to pass the full medical test including Drugs & Alcohol tests.
