You are:

An experienced and capable Marketing and Business Development professional, with a proven track record of delivering successful and innovative solutions. You are a natural leader, and able to effectively manage and support a dedicated team of specialists to achieve a range of strategic initiatives. What you'll do:

The role will be interim and covering maternity leave for a period of 9 months, you will focus on the development and implementation of distinctive Marketing and Business Development plans to support strategic business objectives across the wider client stakeholder communities. Plans will support client attraction and retention strategies to drive revenue / margin, service levels and profitability.

Your Essential Responsibilities will involve successful delivery across five core elements:

Marketing and Brand Strategy

  • Manage the ongoing training, mentoring and development of the Marketing team (x1 head)
  • Develop, own, implement and measure online and offline marketing plans that help meet strategic objectives
  • Ensure best practice marketing techniques are shared and adopted across the brand
  • Oversee the planning & delivery of annual events, including the Innovation Lab and Superstar Awards Ceremony
  • Develop, implement and measure integrated and distinctive marcomms plans that enable the business to attract and retain the right candidate pools
  • Develop brand websites and develop effective digital marketing plans that transform & enhance our brand reach
  • Develop strong, flexible social media plans and implement internally and externally
  • Ensure the timely release of our internal magazine publications
  • Work with SMT to align brand values & behaviours, energise induction and training programmes and upgrade internal communications, offering marketing advice across all aspects of the business

Business Development, Service and Product

  • Manage ongoing training, mentoring and development of the Bid and Business Development team (x 6 heads)
  • Oversee the collation of targets and activities, inc. quarterly Business Development team commission stats
  • Continuous focus on the growth of internal bid and image library
  • Work with the SMT to identify new service and initiatives where appropriate
  • Support with the appropriate launch and ongoing PR development of new service lines
  • Partner with the Business Development teams to maximise marketing support for the entire sales cycle, including mailing lists, new business development, presentations and bids, cross-selling
  • Drive behaviours to maximise use of the central CRM system, Salesforce

Process and Procedures

  • Implement and manage appropriate procedures so that marketing spend is controlled, and all marcomms activity is on brand, within budget and no waste occurs as well as enabling the teams to work efficiently and effectively
  • Ensure all Business Development activity is in line with set Bid, Legal and Pricing Process
  • Maintain company-wide procedures for Marketing and Business Development
  • Oversee and manage PR crisis management and communication plan

People, Partner, and Agency Management

  • Collaborate with colleagues in group marketing activities to ensure optimisation of resources and innovation
  • Maintain and grow partnerships with chosen suppliers
  • Manage relationships with our roster of design, advertising, PR, and specialist agencies to improve brand management and campaign effectiveness via agreed SLAs

ROI and Budgets

  • Set and analyse annual marketing and business development budgets
  • Collaborate with Finance to effectively manage central marketing and business development spend, driving ROI, campaign efficiency and cost management
  • Share status reports and score cards covering costs, efficiency, and effectiveness of campaigns
  • Monitor & improve media based on market sentiment, net promoter scores, brand attitudes and website traffic

What you'll need to bring:

This is an interim role so you'll need to hit the ground running, but you'll be supported by a great team and a wider group of colleagues who will help you to deliver exceptional results

  • Proven track record in leading a high-performance team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and sustain strong business relationships with key stakeholders to become a trusted advisor
  • Strong project management skills, analytical skills including and experience of assessing and reporting on ROI
  • Experience in developing and managing departmental and programme budgets
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Experience with Salesforce and WordPress beneficial, as is competency in Microsoft applications including Teams, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ideally recognised with a Marketing qualification
