On Thursday, 26th March, a group of our Rail Family members took to Liverpool Street Station for the Railway Children’s Night at the Station 2026.
This annual event provides an opportunity for individuals to spend the night on a railway station floor to raise awareness and funds for vulnerable children alone and at risk in the UK, India & Tanzania.
This year, we were proud to see such a great team taking to the station, all honoured to be able to do their part in honour of a charity that does such incredible work for the railway industry. Our team, made up of David Evans, Louise Harrison, Stewart Smith, Paul Catlin, Joanne Macbeth, Scott Collins, Rhianna Harrison, and Omar Patel, represented the heart and spirit of Carlisle and our Caring Passionately for All value. Having happily swapped their warm beds for a night of disrupted sleep, cold temperatures and discomfort, they stood in solidarity with the children who, due to no fault of their own, have had to make a railway station their home.
Operations Manager, Louise Harrison, who took part on the night, summed up why Carlisle team members participate in this event yearly:
“This will be my fourth year supporting this incredible cause. It’s always a powerful reminder of the challenges vulnerable young people face, and I am proud to play a small part in helping raise awareness and support. It may be a cold night, but the purpose behind it makes every moment worthwhile.”
In honour of their efforts, their donation page is still open, with every contribution going to help Railway Children in their efforts to protect vulnerable children across the UK, India and Tanzania, every single day.
