The legislative framework for the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025 has been established, but the true challenge lies in evolving from a theoretical understanding of statutory guidance to the reality of ground-level protection. Following in the footsteps of our purpose-driven and people-first leadership philosophy, Carlisle is committed to ensuring our partners thrive beyond a legal threshold and actively foster a culture of vigilance and safety across the UK.
On Wednesday 3rd June, industry leaders joined us for the second in a series of practical webinars on The Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, from our Managing Director of Counter-Terrorism, Intelligence and Risk, Nick Aldworth.
Nick has a distinct history with Martyn’s Law, having co-authored the original white paper upon which the new law is based, with Public Safety Campaigner and Martyn’s mother, Figen Murray. Now, within his role at Carlisle Support Services, Nick is best placed to move us all beyond the heavy legal terminology with his guidance on breaking down the legislative ‘musts’ and ‘shoulds’ into a clear and actionable roadmap for 2026.
Within this webinar, Nick explored the practical application of Martyn’s Law and how organisations can determine whether they fall within the scope of the legislation; discussing the key criteria, responsibilities, and considerations surrounding the proposed law, helping attendees better understand what compliance could mean for their organisation, venues, and operations.
The path to 2026 and beyond requires a strategy built on reality!
If you missed either discussion, whether this is the first session on Thursday 7th May or the second session on Wednesday 3rd June, you can access both webinars in full by completing the access form below.
These recordings provide you with Nick’s expert interpretation of the recent threat level increase and how to align your procedures with the true spirit of public protection, and are the first steps in deconstructing the new requirements for your business.
To ensure your organisation stays ahead of the enactment curve, over the coming months, we will be hosting two further deep-dive sessions, which will continue with Nick focusing on the individual components of the guidance, from detailed planning to the final security measures required.
