As part of our commitment to Social Value and ESG strategy, we are excited to share our participation in the Career Friendly Schools programme. This initiative connects Carlisle Support Services with local schools to inspire students and offer them insights into various careers, helping them develop essential workplace skills.
Through partnerships with schools and colleges, this programme bridges the gap between education and employment by exposing students to diverse career options. Businesses can engage in numerous ways, including mentoring, work experience, career events, talks, and job preparation for older students, all managed via an interactive portal which allows businesses to reach out to educators and vice versa.
Entering the workforce can be overwhelming, but by showcasing our business and the many roles and career paths we offer, we aim to support career choices and encourage young people to consider our sector and business for their future employment.
We would like to say a special thanks to the Director of Rail Strategy, Steve Cere, and Head of Operations, Paul Brewer, for their efforts in integrating this initiative with our Northern contracts to support the Rail Safe Friendly programme. This initiative is dedicated to spreading the vital message of rail safety among young individuals, educators, and parents throughout schools in the UK. The mission is rooted in the belief that every child should be equipped with the essential knowledge to navigate the railway environment safely.
Additionally, gratitude goes to Head of Operations, Yameen Choudhry and Camden Council Contract Manager, Robin Gormley, for their focus on social value support for schools and colleges near our Camden Council contract. We have already engaged with one college and plan to follow up with a talk for students, mentoring, employability support, and assistance with CV creation and job interview skills.
Our goal is to expand this initiative across all regions and business divisions, further enhancing our social value activities.
