Long hours, overnight shifts, unpredictable weather, and the emotional weight of remaining calm in high-stress situations are just a few of the everyday realities. As an industry, there is more to do in raising awareness, driving professional respect, and ensuring every officer feels supported and valued.

This commitment was echoed by CEO Paul Evans, who attended the City Security Council event in Manchester to speak about the role security officers play and highlight his personal experiences. He later joined the IPSA gathering where he reflected on how the work of security officers hold the power to change lives.
He emphasised that although the industry may at times face unfair criticism, there are countless untold stories of impact from saving lives to protecting assets and enhancing everyday experiences. He thanked and appreciated more than 500,000 security professionals across the UK for being amazing.
