Carlisle Retail has been working with Poundland since 2013, supporting its retail operations and new store programme of 20-30 new stores per year.
Poundland is Europe’s biggest single price retailer, stocking around 3,000 home and kitchenware, gift, healthcare and other items. It serves 2.75 million customers every week.
Poundland were looking to reduce the costs of their existing outsourced support and felt that paying travel and accommodation costs for all personnel was excessive. However with such an aggressive store development programme they were keen to retain knowledge of their processes, particularly with their own internal team stretched. Quality and cost reduction was required.
Poundland became the first customer to adopt our ‘mixed model’ service, as our skilled national team worked together with local personnel, sourced through our regional office network, to allow us facilitate the delivery of news stores and refits.
